Caring Career Spotlight: Emily, Clinical Team Specialist

Supporting patients at home takes more than clinical skill. It takes teamwork, compassion and people who are committed to doing the right thing every step of the way.

Emily, a Clinical Team Specialist, brings all of that to her role each day. Her work helps connect patients to the care they need, while supporting the teams who deliver in-home care with skill and heart.

Emily’s journey with Elara Caring began in 2016.

“After a short interview, I knew this was exactly where I was meant to be,” she shared, remembering how the leadership team emphasized putting patients first and always doing the right thing.

Emily says that’s one of the reasons she loves working at Elara Caring.

“At Elara, patients and their families always come first,” she said. “There’s a strong focus on providing the right care, at the right time, in the right place.”

She also values the recognition and support employees receive, which helps teams stay motivated and connected.

“It’s a place where people are appreciated for the work they do,” she added.

Over the years, Emily has grown her career across multiple roles. Today, as a Clinical Team Specialist, she brings a well-rounded understanding of home health care that helps her support both patients and care teams more effectively.

“Experiencing different parts of home health has helped me grow my knowledge and my love for caring for patients at home,” she said. “Working here has become more than a job. It’s a career I’m very passionate about.”

For Emily, nursing is a calling.

“I believe we are each here for a purpose,” she shared. “For me, that purpose is to care for others and show compassion through nursing.”

She was drawn to home health because it offers something unique: the chance to care for patients in their own environment, where their daily lives unfold.

“Home health gives you the opportunity to really see and understand what patients are going through,” she said. “You can make a real difference in their quality of life.”

Emily has been part of many meaningful patient experiences, but one stands out.

She recalled working with an older veteran who was living alone in unsafe conditions and struggling with his health. Through close coordination with the care team, Emily helped connect him to resources that improved his living situation, provided necessary equipment and supported him in managing his chronic conditions at home.

“We were able to help him feel safer and more supported,” she said. “And hopefully, a little less alone. Those are the moments that stay with you.”

Emily’s story reflects what home health care is all about: meeting patients where they are, supporting the whole person and working together to make each day better.

Through her dedication, compassion and commitment to teamwork, she helps bring Elara Caring’s mission to life in a meaningful way.

“Being able to care for the whole patient at home and support their healing — that’s one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.”
