Caring Career Spotlight: Beverly, Patient Care Specialist

When Beverly calls a patient to check in, she hopes to hear that the care they needed is in place and they’re making progress. Those conversations have stayed with her throughout her career at Elara Caring.

“I enjoy helping and caring for others,” Beverly says. Hearing patients share their “good outcomes” on follow-up calls reminds her why the work matters.

Beverly joined Elara Caring in 2015 as an Intake Coordinator. Today, she is an Elara Connect Patient Care Specialist with the Check-In program. Across those roles, she has worked with patients, families, physicians and care teams to help arrange care at home.

Beverly’s experience with home care has also helped her own family. She now helps arrange care and physician appointments for her 93-year-old mother. Being on the family side of those conversations has deepened her understanding of what it takes to help someone remain at home.

For Beverly, each detail she helps coordinate is tied to a person and a goal. And when a patient tells her they’re doing well, she gets to hear what the work of many people has made possible.
