Caring Career Spotlight: Brandy, Clinical Team Manager
Brandy’s career with Elara Caring began nearly two decades ago, but her path in nursing has continued to evolve every step of the way.
She joined Elara Caring in 2007 as a licensed practical nurse (LPN) in private duty care. About a year and a half later, she transitioned to skilled home health, where she could continue caring for patients while pursuing her education.
In 2016, Brandy became an RN case manager, providing care to patients in their homes. Her experience in the field eventually led to another opportunity to grow. In May 2022, she was promoted to clinical team manager, where she now helps support the clinicians delivering care each day.
Education has remained an important part of Brandy’s career. Through Elara Caring’s tuition reimbursement program, she continued her studies and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) in 2024.
While Brandy initially chose nursing because it offered stability and the opportunity to build a meaningful career, she soon discovered a deeper reason to stay.
“My ‘why’ is the difference I get to make in patients’ lives and the community,” Brandy said. “I genuinely enjoy caring for patients, building relationships with them and helping them achieve the best health and independence possible.”
Brandy said that making a difference isn’t always about helping someone reach a milestone. Sometimes it’s educating a patient so they feel more confident managing their health. Other times, it’s listening, offering reassurance or simply making someone’s day a little easier.
That same focus on people extends to the team around her.
“I love working at Elara because I feel like employees are valued and our opinions matter,” she said. “Teamwork really stands out to me. Everyone I work with is passionate about patient care and works together to get patients taken care of.”
From LPN to RN case manager to clinical team manager, Brandy’s career shows how a role in home care can grow alongside your skills, education and passion for helping others.
