What are Personal Care Services?

Personal care services (PCS) – services that offer home care assistance with activities of daily living – help many patients remain safe and comfortable at home.

What types of services are provided by PCS staff?

  • Bathroom Tasks
  • Grooming
  • Dressing
  • Exercising
  • Meal Preparation
  • 24/7/365 Care
  • Medication Reminders
  • Light Housekeeping
  • Errands
  • Live-In Care

Personal care nurses, certified home health aides and attendants provide these types of services wherever patients call home.

Who is eligible for PCS?

Patients eligible for personal care services include:

  • Someone whose condition limits their ability to care for him/herself in the home
  • Someone who recently discharged from the hospital or another health facility
  • Someone with little or no caregiver support during the day
  • Someone who has difficulty remembering their medications

How do I pay for PCS?

Medicaid and low-income patients may qualify for personal care services at little or no cost. At Elara Caring, we work with local agencies to seek approval for qualifying patients, and we evaluate patient needs to determine coverages available. Other insurances may be accepted. Payment and insurance acceptance is based on service area.

For more information on PCS, email info@elara.com, fill out our online form, or refer a personal care patient.
