Frontline Honors Class of 2025: Trudy, RN Case Manager

Trudy D., an Elara Caring RN Case Manager in Oklahoma, was named a recipient of the WTWH Healthcare Frontline Honors Class of 2025, a prestigious recognition highlighting exceptional frontline healthcare professionals who make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and families.

According to her supervisor, Trudy represents the very best of hospice nursing. She demonstrates what compassionate, patient-centered care truly looks like during life’s most vulnerable and meaningful moments. Her work is defined not only by strong clinical expertise but by extraordinary presence, dedication and heart.

Trudy’s approach to hospice care is rooted in authenticity, connection and growth. She supports patients both literally and figuratively, meeting each person exactly where they are with empathy, dignity and respect.

Her ability to tailor her approach to each individual allows her to provide gentleness when it’s needed, strength when it’s required and purpose in every   interaction. Patients don’t just receive care from Trudy; they feel supported, understood and valued.

Trudy understands hospice care extends far beyond the patient. She supports families with the same level of compassion and intentionality, helping guide them through moments often filled with uncertainty and emotion.

Whether sitting with a patient so loved ones can step away to rest and care for themselves, helping families access additional resources or simply offering calm reassurance, Trudy consistently goes above and beyond without hesitation.

In addition to her patient care, Trudy is known as a dependable and selfless team member. She regularly steps in wherever needed to support continuity of care, including covering shifts, assisting with aide visits, supporting staff at the bedside and filling any role necessary to ensure patients and families are supported. Her willingness to help strengthens the entire hospice team and enhances the care experience for those we serve.

Being named to the WTWH Healthcare Frontline Honors Class of 2025 reflects the impact Trudy makes every day. For Trudy, hospice care is more than a career: it is a calling. Her compassion, humility, teamwork and devotion reflect a nurse who was truly meant to serve others during life’s most sacred moments.
