Frontline Honors Class of 2025: Cecilia, RN, Behavioral Health Case Manager
Cecilia A., RN, Elara Caring Behavioral Health Case Manager in Connecticut, was named a recipient of the WTWH Healthcare Frontline Honors Class of 2025, a prestigious recognition that highlights healthcare professionals who are advancing care, improving access and strengthening the communities they serve.
Since beginning her nursing career in home care in 2012, Cecilia has focused on improving access to care for frail, elderly and underserved populations. She is known for her tireless advocacy, often going well beyond traditional expectations to ensure her patients have the medical, emotional and community support they need. For Cecilia, nursing is not just about managing symptoms or conditions; it is about helping people feel connected, respected and empowered in their own healthcare journeys.
Her work with local community resources reflects this philosophy. Cecilia understands that emotional wellbeing and social connection are critical components of overall health. She finds great meaning in helping patients reconnect with peers in the Hispanic community, reducing isolation and creating opportunities for meaningful engagement and support.
Cecilia is also recognized for her innovative and highly personalized approach to overcoming barriers related to language, health literacy and technology. Many of her behavioral health patients face challenges navigating English-language healthcare systems, but Cecilia ensures language is never a barrier to quality care. Through her efforts, she has helped reduce unnecessary hospitalizations and emergency department visits among the patients she serves.
What truly sets Cecilia apart is her ability to combine clinical skill with cultural sensitivity and practical problem-solving. She meets patients with respect, listens closely to their concerns and works creatively to remove obstacles that might otherwise limit their access to care. Whether she is helping a patient learn new technology, coordinating critical resources or offering reassurance during difficult moments, her work consistently reflects dignity, empathy and empowerment.
Being named to the WTWH Healthcare Frontline Honors Class of 2025 recognizes the real-world difference Cecilia makes every day for patients, families and her community. Her work demonstrates how culturally responsive care, innovation and advocacy can transform healthcare experiences and outcomes.
