A Nurse’s Career Journey at Elara Caring
Sara, skilled home health nurse preceptor, began her journey with Elara Caring in August of 2012 as a full-time LPN in the field and immediately fell in love with the job. She liked the freedom and autonomy it provided, as well as the opportunity to offer solutions to physicians and be part of the care team. While there were some challenges, Sara’s passion for learning and advancing in her career kept her motivated.
Driven by her thirst for knowledge, she decided to pursue further education to become an RN, utilizing the company’s tuition reimbursement program. During this time, Sara transitioned to a remote QA position within the company, which provided more stability for her family.
When legacy Elara Caring companies merged, Sara had the opportunity to lead the merger team, which expanded her knowledge base and offered valuable experience. Although this role eventually ended due to restructuring, Sara was grateful to return to fieldwork with the support of her former boss.
After completing her RN certification and gaining experience in the field, she transitioned to the role of RN Care Team Manager, and later pursued the position of RN Preceptor, which she currently holds. Sara finds immense fulfillment in teaching and educating, and the diverse responsibilities of her role keeps her engaged and challenged.
Sara says, “I love this position. I love teaching and educating. The variety of my day-to-day duties keeps me on my toes. I still work in the field at least a few times a month so I still get patient care. I love helping people, whether it is my peers or patients, and this provides me the format to do so. The support I feel from management and my peers is amazing. I still get to learn with my job by completing all courses offered to me and then I can share that information with my peers. This job is a great fit for me and so is this company, hence the longevity. Thank you for the opportunity to grow within this company.”
