Personal Care Services in Texas

Elara Caring provides in-home assistance for qualified individuals, offering support with activities of daily living, home safety, and personal care. This may include bathing, dressing, meal preparation, exercising, grooming, shopping, toileting, and more. Our services are designed to help individuals maintain their independence while receiving the care they need.

Funded through Texas Medicaid and Healthcare Partnerships, as well as various other sources—including private pay, Veterans Affairs (VA), Area Agencies on Aging (AAA), and long-term care insurance—our nearly 10,000 caregivers and staff provide vital in-home care to the most vulnerable Texans. Through programs such as Community Attendant Services (CAS), Primary Home Care, and Family Care, Texans can receive nursing home-level care while continuing to live safely in their own homes.

Whether an individual needs short-term care following surgery, occasional assistance with daily tasks, or 24-hour support in the home, we create personalized care plans that adapt to their evolving needs. How do I qualify for care?

To be a qualified individual you must meet the medical necessity and financial requirements. The program is available to anyone who:

Is a Texas resident
Family Care has less restrictions – no medical need or personal care task
- Single $5,000 / Married $6,000 / Resources are not considered with Family Care
Has an income level for CAS – Community Assistance Services, Primary Home Care
- Single $2,313 (Resources $2,000) / Married $4,626 (Resources $3,000)
StarKids
- Must be on Medicaid / Must meet functional score of 24+
- Task must include personal care and the need for social environment
Must have practitioner statement of medical need signed by physician. Task must include personal care
Must have functional impairment score of 24+
Must have the need to receive services at a minimum of 6 hours per week
