Personal Care Services in Texas
Elara Caring provides in-home assistance for qualified individuals with a focus on help with activities of daily living, home safety and personal care. This may include bathing, dressing, meal preparation, exercising, grooming, shopping, toileting and more. Our team of professionals includes:
- Personal Care Attendants
- Personal Care Special Attendants
Funded through Texas Medicaid and Healthcare Partnership, a team of nearly 10,000 caregivers and clinicians provide vital in-home care and support to the most vulnerable Texans. Utilizing programs such as Community Attendant Services (CAS), Primary Homecare and Family Care, Texans have access to nursing home level of care while maintaining independence at home.
We can help you transition and stay home after hospitalization.
It can be challenging to get back into your normal routine after a hospitalization. With the help of Personal Care Services, the transition is smoother.

To be a qualified individual you must meet the medical necessity and financial requirements. The program is available to anyone who:
- Is a Texas resident
- Family Care has less restrictions – no medical need or personal care task
- Single $5,000 / Married $6,000 / Resources are not considered with Family Care
- Has an income level for CAS – Community Assistance Services, Primary Home Care
- Single $2,313 (Resources $2,000) / Married $4,626 (Resources $3,000)
- StarKids
- Must be on Medicaid / Must meet functional score of 24+
- Task must include personal care and the need for social environment
- Must have practitioner statement of medical need signed by physician. Task must include personal care
- Must have functional impairment score of 24+
- Must have the need to receive services at a minimum of 6 hours per week
