Elara Caring Announces Acquisition of American Family Home Health

Elara Caring, the only full-scale, multi-state home health provider of clinical and personalized services across the patient continuum, has acquired American Family Home Health, a 35-person, privately owned skilled home healthcare provider in Huntley, Illinois, within Winnebago County. The addition of American Family Home Health will further increase Elara’s geographic footprint in Illinois, expand its presence in the Midwest, and advance its mission of expanding access to high-quality, home healthcare. It comes on the heels of Elara’s addition of hospice services to its home health offerings in Tinley Park, Illinois, and its recent acquisition of Assisted Daily Living in Rhode Island.

“As demand for home health continues to climb, Elara is finding new avenues to bring high-quality, personalized clinical care and support services to markets nationwide,” said Scott Powers, CEO and Chairman of Elara Caring. “We’ve improved outcomes and the overall patient experience with our relationship-based approach, innovative platform, and value-based model, and we look forward to doing the same for patients and families in Huntley and beyond.”

Elara’s innovative care platform leverages advanced technology, data, insights, and services to anticipate home health needs by proactively monitoring and engaging current and previous patients/clients. It is specifically designed to empower caregivers with the tools, resources, and support necessary to provide the best possible care – all while creating an environment in which the most compassionate and committed caregivers want to build and grow their careers.

“In agreeing to be acquired by Elara, American Family Home Health is passing the baton to an organization that has demonstrated its full commitment to high-quality, compassionate patient care,” said Ren Pillai, Administrator at American Family Home Health. “We have every expectation that this deal will improve lives within our community and provide greater opportunities for our team members.”
