What type of care is covered by the program?

Assistance with activities of daily living.

What are activities of daily living?

Activities repeated daily for healthy living, such as bathing, toileting, grooming, meals, oral care, remembering to take medications, ambulation, etc.

What if my caregiver is a friend and not family?

If they meet the eligibility criteria of living in the same residence as you then they would qualify.

What if I live in a rural area?

This program is available statewide.

Care my caregiver be paid for care that has already been provided?

The program will only cover future care that is provided after the program is in effect.

If my caregiver is my spouse, can they be compensated?

Currently a spouse is not eligible as a paid caregiver. Family members other than a spouse or friends would qualify.

Is there an age requirement?

Yes, the minimum age for the recipient receiving care is 65.
